A couple of years ago, I painted Reaper Bones orcs. Some time ago, I repainted them and added more orcs from the second Reaper Bones Kickstarter to the horde. WizKid’s Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures line also has some orcs! These are “original” orcs as depicted in the D&D 5th edition monster manual. As my players were en route to an encounter with orcs in the village of Triboar in my Storm King’s Thunder campaign, I decided to give these new orcs a try.
The first mission of the new Storm King’s Thunder campaign brought my players into an old ruin, searching for a hidden treasure after the events with Tiamat from the previous campaign. Little did they know, that there was something stalking them: a displacer beast! This was my next mini from Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures, as they do have the official license to produce displacer beasts.
The halfling monk of the party was a bit of a challenge, as I did not find any cool female halfling monk miniatures on the internet. There were some really nice male miniatures, and female monks too. But I did not find any appealing female halfling monk back in 2017. WizKids had just released their new Nolzur’s Marvelous Miniatures line, and I decided to modify the figure of a female halfling rogue into the miniature for Meria the monk.
