Player Character: Lafisar the Druid

The party’s druid is Lafisar the wood elf, a druid of the land circle. This is a druid who focuses on casting spells, so the miniature should look like a caster. It didn’t take long to find the perfect miniature in Elquin, High Elf Adventurer (77092).

Here is the group of adventureres from the 5e Tyranny of Dragons campaign:

Adventurers: Tyranny of Dragon
Elquin, High Elf Adventurer by Tim “Talin” Collier

The miniature was sculpted by Werner Klocke. As part of the Reaper Bones kickstarter, I already had the plastic version of the miniature, so it was ready to be painted at once 🙂 Lafisar’s player wanted his druid to focus on the magic and the mystique of the wood elves. It is such a great miniature for that!

The miniature seems to be quite popular, as there are multiple really cool painted versions on the internets:

Seriously, look at the version from Vhaidra. It is outstanding. My version is heavily inspired by their color scheme.

Preparation/Priming

I cut off the plastic base from Reaper and created a wilderness base with some stones, sand and a little twig. Then, I used my usual method and primed the mini black and then white with the airbrush.

Painting

As usual, I started with the skin (i.e. the face) and the base. Then, from the inner layers of clothing to the outer layers.

The whole mini took me about 4 hours to paint, mostly for the layering of the cloak. But overall, a very cool miniature and enjoyable experience.

After varnishing the mini, I had a lot of fun with the vegetation on the base!
